BASIC RECRUIT TRAINING

Upon joining India Company, 3rd BTN, 26th Marines, each member will be subject to a 3 month probationary period while they get their kit together and participate in "Basic Training." During this period members are welcome to attend events and are encouraged to participate but will be considered recruits until the unit command determines that they are knowledgable enough and fit to take a formal position within the unit.
This training will be done under the supervision of a senior member of the unit (NCO or above) acting as a Drill Instructor.
Note that if you are prior service military you may be exempt from this.
Upon Graduation from "Basic Training" Members will be expected to show the following:
•Knowledge of Basic Customs and Courteseys of the USMC
•Knowledge of Enlisted and Officer Rank Structure of the USMC
•Knowledge of History of the 26th Marine Regiment in Vietnam
•Knowledge of basic rifle drill and unarmed drill
•Knowledge of primary weapon and be able to demonstrate proficiency with it
Don't worry! You won't be expected to know all this on your own. It is the responsibility of your Drill Instructor to instruct you and be on hand for any questions you might have during and after an event weekend. It is also their responsibility to provide their recruits with the educational material to learn from. Communication with your Drill Instructor during this time is key. Remember they are here to help you!
Note: While this is set up like a mini-boot camp, members will not be yelled at, mistreated, or abused in any way. Any and all yelling will be done for show of the public ONLY and will be arranged beforehand. Any mistreatment by a Drill Instructor or anyone in the unit should be reported to the unit command immediately!
Basic Infantry School
Upon Graduating from "Basic Training" members will be assigned to a squad and platoon where they will take part in infantry training maneuvers. These will help make the unit more effective during tactical events and also give each member a better understanding of the tactics and maneuvers of the infantry during the Vietnam War.
Nothing too physically exerting will be expected of members such as long hikes, or strenuous physical training. We understand that this is not the actual military and that each of our members may have different medical conditions.
General Notes
Each member of India Company 3/26 will be expected to further their knowledge of the era, and their knowledge of the 26th Marines in Vietnam. Each member will be expected to be always eager to improve their impressions and personas to provide the best and highest quality experience for the public. Education is the most important part of what we do.
